Description

Data on earthworm work from articles, reports and dissertations in Côte d'Ivoire and Nigeria

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 513 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data

This project proposal carried out in collaboration with the Centre National de Floristique of Félix HOUPHOUËT-BOIGNY will consist of acquiring data on soil biodiversity in natural ecosystems (forests and savannahs) as well as in agrosystems throughout the country. This data mobilization will be done through bibliographic research and meetings or exchanges with researchers in Côte d'Ivoire or border countries. This data mobilization will focus on soil fauna and flora, soil properties and nature, climate and land use. The acquired data will then be published in order to deduce the major interactions between soil properties and land use and soil biology on the one hand, and between soil biodiversity and ecosystem functions on the other hand.

Title Global soil Biodiversity Initiative
Identifier SoilBON
Funding Colorado State University
Study Area Description west african countries: Côte d'Ivoire and Nigeria
Design Description Several data are available on the animal kingdom in Côte d'Ivoire. However, data published by Ivorian researchers on taxa such as Fungi, Archaea, Bacteria, Chromista, Protozoa and viruses are rare (https://www.gbif.org/country/CI/publishing ). Several research projects have been carried out on soil fauna, but very little information is available on the GBIF portal.

Sampling Methods

Mobilization of biodiversity data from scientific publications (articles, dissertations, reports).

Study Extent Different regions and agroecosystems in Côte d'Ivoire
Quality Control After data entry, a taxonomic correction is made using the GBIF API software. For the geolocation of species, the geolocate software was used to determine the geographical coordinates.

Method step description:

  1. Initially, the mobilization of data. The second stage was devoted to the extension of good practices in mobilization and digitizing data on biodiversity.
